FERNLEIGH SETTLEMENT.
RESULT OF BALLOT. The Marlborough. Land Board conducted a ballot at Kaikoura yesterday for sections jn' the Fcrnleigli Settlement, purchased from Mr S. Andrew. The block comprised 679 •acres of good land suitable for dairying and sheep raising, subdivided into seven sections. The ballot resulted as folows: Section 1—69 acres, half-yearly rental, £75 16s 6d, E. Burrows. Section 2—75 acres, £S4 14s, Harry bmith. Section 3—73 acres, £64 18s 3d, J. \\. Lais-son. Section 4-33 acres, £SG ss, P. Humrn. Section 5—13 acres, £SB 14s 6d, G. i. Sankey. Section 6—Held orer. Sectior 7—SB acres with buildings valued at £175, half-yearly rental, £7B 19s 6d, plus £\\ 6s 8d (interest and '- fund on buildings, W. Dalzella.
