NORTH BEACH NOTES.
—— p Tho bachelors of Jubilee avcrjue gave a social in the North Beach School, when about 20 couples assembled. The evening was spent iu games and dancing, tho music being supplied by Miss Gowanloct, Mra A Henry, Miss P. Fleming, and Mr A. Hazard. Mr R. Parker Rave a song. Mr J. L. Scott, jun., and Mr J. B. W illtnott, ,iun., carried out the duties of M.C.'s, Trior to tho Kinging of "Auld Lang Syne," 3lr Scott informed those present that it was proposed to hold a series of such evenings, the next to take the form of a fancy dress ball. A voto of thanks, proposed by ilr J. Barret, to tho routhful promoters of the social, brought a happy evening to a close. Arrangements for (ho coronation ceremony and opening of the Memorial Hall are proceeding apace. The building is finished, tho wiring practically finished, and the furnituro partially ready. A rehearsal in the hall is to take place this wctk. Mr Betts, a tramway employee, had the misfortune to lose his home in Jlarrioi's road by fire at tho end of last week.
