Mr and Mrs Harold Wright, who have been spending a few days in Timaru,. motored back to Mayfiold yesterday. Mrs M. J. Godby, formerly Miss Ada Ehodes, of Timaru, and Mr Eobin Godby. (England) arrived in Timaru fioui .Christchurch on.Monday.: . Mr and Mrs Matheson (Kurow) are with Mrs John Matheson (Wai-iti road). Mrs and Mr C. Creswell, who are.also, there, will return to Lismpre to-day. General News. Bjisiness in Timaru main street property has been- exceedingly brisk during the last, few: weeks, and quite a number of well-known properties in the business area have changed hands. Among'the properties recently quitted are Messrs Reid and Cray's, Beswick street, Mount Cook Motor Co., Strathallap street, an extensive block containing Messrs Brehaut Bros'., lmrio' and Higgins's, and Triggs' and' Denton''s, Stafford sitteet, McMeekitt's oil stores. Church street, Sargood, Son and Ewen's late sample rooms, Church street, Palleson's ship chandler's stores, Strathallan street, and a largeblock.'At the rear of the Balmoral Hotel, Barnard street. Some oft these properties have already again changed hands at advanced prices.
