EFFECT OF THUNDERSTORM.

SYDNEY, June .26.
A heavy thunderstorm occurred last evening and the city and suburbs were plunged into darkness following a heavy explosion at Pyrmont powerhouse which wrecked two switchboards and caused other damage. Several electricians were temporarily disabled by the shock, but none was seriously injured. Power was quickly restored in the city, but some of 'the suburbs remained in darkness for hours.
