VISIT OF VANCOUVER BUSINESS' MEN:

Some time ago reference was made in "The Press" to the likelihood .of a party of Canadian business men visiting tho Dominion during the currency of the New Zealand and South Seas inhibition. It was then stated that tho organiser for the Canterbury Progress J.eagiie (Mr P. 11. Climie; had got into communication with the Van-couver-Board of. Trade-on tho.subject and had extended a cordial invitation to the members of the delegation to break their journey at Christehureh, cither on the way top or on thc;r return from, D'unediii. ''He-added 'that there was much .in Canterbury to interest them., if the. members of the delegation could spare two or three daws for the purpose. ' Under date ot May 6th, the seoietary of the Vancouver Board of Trade has" replied as follows: — "Replying to your letter of April Bth, this Board has' been'invited by t'.ie New Zealand Government to send six representatives to the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition, and we have gratefully accepted. Wc appreciate very mu.cn your kind letter and the invitation contained therein, l)ut ) until wc get more details from the Xew Zealand Government in regard to itinerarv, it is not possible for us to advise von as to whether we can accept your kind offer. We would be obliged if vou would defer any further action until wo have written to you more definitely in regard to the programme, etc." Commenting on the matter, Mr Climie said'that the length of stay in Canterbury of the members of the delegation would depend on the itinerary arranged for them ; but if time permitted, visits would be arranged to Lake Coleridge, Akarba, and Ranmer Springs. In addition to the attractions "at each of these places, the visitors would be able to obtain a good general idea of Canterbury and its potentialities from the country they would pass through in reaching them.
