The total of book* issned for the past flvo weeks was 255. The weekly shoot of the Miniature Rifle Club resultod in the following scores!— Seniors v. Southbrook.-—T. Dalzell 60, P. Seott 70, E. Peter 67, D. Peter 70, A. Matheg 68, J. Mathers 68, A. Withers 67, P. Topp 70, J. Quick 70, Q. Clarke 671 total 686. Juniors v. Waikuku.-—T. McGowan 67, H. Orchard 67, N. Orchard 64, G. Hales 64, W. Demmocka 61, L. McGowan 67, G. Mitchell 70, H. Ford 67r. total 527. The first round of the 1912 Cup was won by D. Peter.
CUST. A euchre party was held in aid of the Tennis Club. A pleasant evening's enjoyment resulted. The' following were the prize-winners:—Ladies, Miss E. Dalley. Consolation, Mrs A. Forbes. Gentlemen: Mr C. Allevne; consolation, Mr Eeg. Wood. Tho junior football team had a fine win on Saturday, defeating Osford by 18 points to 3. The ground was very wet and soggy, which upset the visitors. Henry Tomlinson scored three tries, and M. Richardson one. W. Burgess converted three tries. The seniors travelled to Waipara, and suffered defeat.at tho hands of Glenmark. VIEW HILL. ,Tho View Hill Sports Club held a euchre party and dance in the View Hill schoolroom, in aid of the Western Queen. In spito of the intensely cold weather there was a largo attendance, and an enjoyable evening was spent. Miss Clceve won the lady's prize, and Mr W. Fantham, the gentleman's. Messrs Debenham and Hooper's Jazz Band supplied the music, and extras were played by Mrs Southgate, and Messrs S. Smith, and W. Fantham. A raffle for a doll was won bv Miss' K. Brown. A vote, taken during* the evening for the best-looking lady and gentleman was given in favour of Miss Marsh and Mr Sankey. Mr E. Fanfliara was M.C. The Queen will benefit to the extent of about £l3.
WAIKUKU. The Miniature Eiflc Club held its weekly shoot no Mouday, also a junior match against Southbook. The eiglifc members of the team are mentioned first, and the scores were as follows: A. Ellis 70, L. Whitlow 70, A, Mac Donald 69, J. Wesley 70, J. Eobb 70, F. Stokes 08, A. Lovegrovc 07, N. King 70, P. Lukis 50, W. Tomlinsoh 65, W. Garnett 66, A. Cross 50, B. Ellis 54, E. Kobb 65.' LE BON'S BAY. On Saturday the Little River Maoris visited Le Bon's to'try conclusions with the local football team. . „Tlic visitors were one man short. The Maoris were the heavier team, and scored one try, which -was not converted. For .the local team E. Mora kicked a penalty goal. The weather for past few days has been decidedly wintry. A sou'wester held sway all Saturday, and Sunday, and on Monday" a drizzle from the oast commenced.. ..The rain has removed all traces of snow.
