' The stormy weather'made the Attendance small,, but those who did venture out to hear Mr- Rowlands .were; richly rewarded. Mr Newlands, who. was formerly pr.ofejsbr at Os T ow College, Eairiburgh, ia' travelling the British Empire giving elocutionary recitals. Chief ■ among the items on Saturday night'B programme were "The Trial. Scene" from "The Merchant of Venice". (Shakespeare) and ".forty Singing Seamen" (Noyes).
