The , new troupe appeared in Sydney and Melbourne a few weeks ago at J- 0. Williamson's theatres, and were evea more popular than the original company. One critic describes the act-as a. spectacular, speciality, including juggling, balancing, magic, Chinese, clown juggling, contortionists, water spinning, and novelties, and says Australia has not seen anything finer in. vaudeville for years. The company supporting Long. Tack Sam ha 3 been, sel'ectod from J. C; Williamson theatres, and. is-deserving a special.notice. .The first appearance from America of the Novelle Bros., two musical acrobats, is a notable'attraction. They present a quaint and original act, portraying the woodland courtship of.two birds.' A critic says:"lt is a marvellouß imitation. The bird' notes are not only' beautifully and faithfully reproduced, but are made to tell the whole story of the wooing, the quarrel, reconciliation, joy and triumph." Billed as the Royal Illusionist, Chris Charlton, who is assisted, in his act by Dorothy Browne, has had many Royal command performances before the King and Queen, "Charlton presents, a serieß of illusions in a most effective manner," says a critic. "His most baffling feat, perhaps, is. that of vanishing a _' young lady in a bath-ing-machine in mid-air, the machine itself falling to pieces.'! Errol Addiß<xn, and Gertrude Mitrongo present a series of classical and speciality dances. Moran and Wiser, from the Palace Theatre, New York, are described as hilarious hat spinners. The special orchestra is under the direction of. Mr A. G.
