CRICKET-TENNIS ART UNION.
—r-4 ' STREET SALES TOrDAY. From 8.45 a.m." to-day until late this evening the cricket and tennis players of the city will be engaged, with the permission ofthe City Council, in sales, of gigantic art union tickets in an effort' to raise funds for \the cricket and tennis associations. The prizes in the art union, in aUuvial gold, total £4OOO, the first pri?e being £IOOO, the second £SOO and the third £2OO, while there will be 183 other substantial prizjes. The, ticketß are 2s 6d each, or booka of nine mnSr be bought from street salesmen for £l. To-day's street sales will close the campaign, and the drawing of prizes will take place positively on June 22nd. Tho promoters fcope that to-day's effort will -be availed of by the Chnstchurch public to ensure the success of the art union, for which a. great deal of 'voluntary work is being done by tihe rank and file of tennis players and cricketers.
