ANNUAL MEETING.

Oh Monday evening Mr P. P. J. Amodeo presided over & good attendance of members and friends at the annual general meeting;, of tho Christchurch Catholic Club. Tho report and balance-sheet were carried. The balance-sheet shows that assets exceed liabilities by £250. 'The report 'stated that tho club had passed a fairly successful year, and an appeal was made for new members to enrol. The club had been well represented at Eaßter at. tho annual conference and competitions of the* Federated Catholic Clubs of New Zealand, which gathering will, next Easter, bo held in.Christchurch.

It was decided to form a boxing and training class under tho direction of Mr J. Musson.

Various suggestions wore mado and prospects for tho coming year were considered bright. Steps are to be taken immediately to dovelop the literary and debating side of the club, by means of lectureß, debates, and discussions. By these and other means, it is hoped to cater for tho tastes of all members. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the rotiring committee for-its. services. The result of the election of officers for the current year was as follows:—Patrons, Bishop Brodie and Sir G. Clifford; president, Mr J. K. Moloney; activo vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. R. Hayward, E. L. McKeon, and E. Cordery; hon. vice-presidents, Die. Morkane, Ardagh, and O'Brien, Messrs D. C Sullivan, M.P., T. Armstrong, M.P., T. Cahill, J. S. Barrett, L. J. O'Connell, J. Ainger, Dr. Hight, Messrs "W. and G. Hayward, P. McNamara, C. E. J. "Ward, G. Dobbs, A. T. Donnelly, and W. Clifford; secretary, Mr J. R. O'Shaughnessy; treasurer, Mr J. Flood; committee, Messrs P. Clarkson, P. Hanrahan, M. Daly, S. Polaschek, P. P. J. Amodeo, A. Roche, and S.' Barnett.'
