MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. Mr J. D. Hall presided over a meeting of the cxecutivo of the North Canterbury branch of the Farmers' Union, held yesterday. . The question of arranging a suitable Canterbury exhibit at the Duncdin Exhibition was discussed, and-the matter referred to the various A. and P. Associations for consideration and attention, after first enquiring from the committee of the Exhibition the conditions as to space, etc... A number of copies of the treatise on the Economic aspect of the wheat position, • published by the Economics Department of. Canterbury College under the auspices of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, were received from the Chamber, and the chairman requested members to circulate them among tho Unions. Mr G. W. Leadley: Has it struck you, Mr Chairman, that this very important article was treated rather coolly by the Chamber? It was simply decided that it lay on the table! "Perhaps they will deal with it later!" observed the chairman. 1 Mr W. W. Mulholland mentioned that the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce contributed £IOO per annum to the College, and in return information of the sort was supplied at regular intervals. He suggested that the various provincial executives should combine to make a similar arrangement: At present Professor Condliffc and his assistant had to do all the work, but if there were more subsidised contributions another assistant could be specially employed to collect data of that Bort.

The matter was referred to the chairman to bring up at the meeting of the Dominion executive in Wellington today.
