TRAMWAY TIME-TABLES.

TO TOW BDITOR O* "THE Sir,—l am glad that someone hafi drawn public attention to tbo way in •which! travellers on our trams arc inconvenienced through the vagaries of the time-table at present in use. Ahe junction of Wordsworth street and Colombo street is" notorious for the way in -which Opatwa residents reach' this point, en route for Cashmere -Hills, only to find that the No. 2 Hills train has gone out just before they get to Colombo street stop The Opawa cars timed to reach Colombo street at J.o-> and 10.23, are due at the same moment as the Hills cars, but nine times out of 10 the Hills car gets to Wordsworth street a few secondi before the Opawa car and. never waits to sceif there are any passengers for transhipment from Opawa. Only this morning both cars beat Vieir own time-table at reaching the junction at exactly lOJsu, bnfc the Hills car motor-man was not "to he beaten and off he went leaving passengers for the Hills from Opawa when only 20 yards from his car. Possibly he didn't see them; personally don't think ho did. because he never looked towards the Wordsworth street car. The service is supposedly run in the : interests of . the public, and surely to goodness the tram could wait the few moments necessary to ensure that no intending passengers are being left at Wordsworth street corner. lime and again I haive seen ladies with children alight from tjie Opaiwa car at Svdenham, on route for Cashmere Hills, and be left, although the Hills car had not crossed Wordsworth street when they were off the Opawa car. Both the and Hills care are scheduled to reach their junction point at 12.48, but the Hills car has invariably started by the time the Opawa car draws up ait Wordsworth street. The 2.2 and the 4138 from Opawa both miss the Hills tram by about a minute. . A little commen sense applied to the adjustment of time-taite would save this waste of valuable time and, incidentally, the voicing of nrucli Language that not fit for publication in ' your columns Yours, etc..
