THE FARMERS AND WHEATGROWING.

TO THT. EDITOR Of "THE PBSSS." Sir, —I do not intend to carry on a lengthy correspondence, as I have given my version ro wheat-growing, but I must reply to "Farmer of Forty Years" —a long time to be battling. I don't lc'now who he is, but should pick him to have made his bit out of wheatgrowing, and that now he is buttoned up, and "ready and waiting" to help his brother grower. He mentions rates and taxes and low. yields, but does he forget that a lean year is met with in nearly all businesses, even in bee-farm-ing? Again, the wheat-grower is not tin: only person taxed. lias "Parmer of Forty Years" ever had the misfortune to have a forty per cent, lambing season and the wheat still growing? He must have in all those years of battling. llow would it figure out to-day with ewes at 50s, and most of them gummies at that. As far as "Two and Nine" and his bee-farm are concerned, I should advise "Farmer of Forty Years" to take it easy x and join him, as ho must bo getting too old to worry about wheat-grow-ing. And tho bee is tho only worker to-day that has not had his wages increased although his home may be a little more costly. Thanking you for your valuable space.—Yours, etc., STILL TWO AND IsINEPENCE.
