It was decided to raise the age of eligibility lor the Third Grado to 18 years, and to play hv* rounds in the senior competition. The delegate to the annual conference of the New Zealand Union was instructed to appose tho motion of the Wellington Union In favour of Increased representation for tho major Union and to support that Of the Auckland Union, favourable to the inclusion of reinstated players in New Zealand teams.. Seddon Shield matters were discussed with a deputation from the Westland Sub-Union, and it was resolved to oppose the move to appoint referees from the Seddon Shield districts. The holding of Shield matches in Christchurch was favoured, and the Union decided to waive its piior right of ch.-Jenge. The control of junior mfttcnas at Hokitika was left In the hands of tho Westland SubUnion. ,

ASHBURTON SUB-ASSOCIA-TION.

MEETING OP COMMITTEE. The Ashburton County Football Sub-Asso-ciation met' kst night, tbc president, Mr A. Amos, presiding over a pood attendance. The South Canterbury Football Association advised that Canterbury had agreed to tin proposed extensions' in South Canterbury' 3 bouhdsuria;, which would come before tbs nnnual meeting; of the N.Z.F.A., to be held on April 30th. South Canterbury wished jo know it Ashburton intended to enter in/ teams tor their competitions; South Canterbury had three cup 3, known as tho I'rassr, the Cavs, and Yoiing Cups. Th& former wis won on the knock-out principle, and ÜBualiy toofk place after the competitions. Tho Cave Cup Lad been run on League linei, two points for a win and one for a draw. The Young Cup was for juniois, »lso run on lie ague lints. It was agreed that the Ashburton Association would have sufficient this year in its own competitions, including •uh&t for the Gala Cup. Tin raaater alsa suggested th.-.t tho Association contribute towards tho cost of a Soccer ball. Mr McE'hinnoy said that it was time that Soccer was commenced in all primary schools.
