Arthur Train, a New York lawyer and novelist, prior to sailing for the Balkans, took out a bandit insurance policy fof £IOO,OOO with Lloyd's, who have contracted to pay 90 per cent, or any ransom required if the writer is kidnapped, the premium to be at the rate or 2 per cent. Another Greek, Nicholas Tsontas, has ben arrested iu connexion with the death of Joanes Vlachos, whose dead bodv was found in a quarry at Peter- • borough, South Australia. The police earlier arrested Arastotilis Beitnetos, who had in his possession a number ot cheques and other papers inscribed with the namo Vlachos.
All Saints' Parish Church, Wandsworth, was crowded to hear a jazz band from a well-known West End music hall accompany the hymns at the evening service on Sunday. This is the first time a jazz band has taken part in a church service. All Saints' congregation includes a number of theatricals.
