SYDENHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE
At the ordinary monthly meeting of the Sydenham School Committee there were present—Rev. J. K. Archer (chairman), Messrs F. A. Frayle, T. H. Butterfield, J. H. Pratt, E. A. J. Hooper, J. <J. Brown, C. H. Rintoul, and H. H. MoCaw. The headmaster reported that the number on the Toll on October 31st was: Boys 536, and girls 49G, average attendance for month 951.5 or 92 -per cent. The epidemio of measles had run its course, and the attendance was back to normal. Correspondence from the Education Board was received stating that Mr' Leicester F. N. Ward would be appointed assistant master at the school. Business 1 in connexion with the annual school picnic vais discussed, and it was decided that tjie picnio, be held at Little River. The chairman reported that the concert held recently for funds for the general account realised £lO 5s 6d, expenditure £2 17s 6d, leaving a credit balance of £7 Bs. A unanimous vote of thanks was passed to the chairman for the work he ha 3 done in connexion with the concert. Messrs H. H.' McCaw and J. H. Pratt' were appointed a Visiting Committee for the ensuing- term.
