UMPIRE'S WORD FINAL. RECOMMENDED AMENDMENT IN RULES. (BY CABLE—IfIESS ASSOCIATION— COPYUIGHT) (AUSTRALIAN AMD V.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, i. November 19. Tho "Daily Mail" says that the council of the Lawn Tennis Association recommends an amendment to tho rules making the •umpire's decision final upon any question of facts. A competitor expressing disapproval, either by vord or by action, should bo liable to disqualification. Tho association tournamont committee -will be empowered to investigate cases and take disciplinary action to deal with offenders by suspension or otherwise. The "Daily Mail" points out that the umpire's difficulties will begin when a, player like Mile. Lenglen or Norman Brookes, aa at "Wimbledon in 1921, deliberately lose 3 a point after an incorrect decision for the purpose of levelling up matters.
