ST. ALBANS PARK CARNIVAL.

The hundreds of -workers -who have been active during the pa3t three months on behalf of the Children's Playground, are looking forward to a fine day to-morrow to crown their efforts -with the success they deserve. Tents, stalls, and marquees have been erected over the Park. Special lighting arrangements fox each tent and stall have been provided, with the addition of provision for dancing on the lawn, to music by the Woolston and Derry's Bands. Among the numerous side-shows at the fete will bo aeroplane swing, box-ball, shooting gallery, catch-'em-bobbdng, skittles, somersault football, moving dolia, hoop-la, chocolate square, hush billiards, laughing gallery, etc., etc. Among the numerous stalls will be produce stall, cake stall, work stall, fancy goods stall, sweets stall, ice cream, soft drinka tent, small goods stall, vaudeville tent. An added attraction has been provided in the way of a special stadium erected inside a marquee for the Boxing, The- contesta , will be run under the Sports Chib. In addition to the ordinary classes, four three-minute bouts have .been arranged between A. Thompson and C. Pocock and J. Griffiths and E. Pocock. There will be oontmuous music afternoon and night. The procession of motor-cars with children to go through the city to-night will leave I*timer square at 7.50. The result of the Queen contest will bo announced at 9 njn Irams 4 and 16 will take- the largo crowds' who will attend tho fete. In St. Matthew's Schoolroom, St. Albans yesterday afternoon and evening a ful sale of produce, was held for tho purpose of furthering the interests of the Edgeware Bowling, Croquet, and Tennis Club's candidate for queen of the Si Alhara Plavground Fate, Miss Edna Jarden. The members of the club entered very enthusiastically into the conduct of tho sale, relays of attendants on the stalls being provided. At tho different stalls were on ealo flowers, email goods, flour and hanm, jama and preserves, butter, eggs and cheese poultry, vegetables, and oddments. Buying was very brisk and a quick disposal of much of the produce wa3 effected. The sale was thoroughly successful and should result i n "^, cm b's queen candidate doing extreme-ly-well in the contest. The proceeds of the sale will go to the funds of the St. Albans Playground.'
