(says the "Wanganui Chronicle' ) The .signal, when, .in, motion, resembles closely, the ;rapid opening and closing of, scissor- blades, this effect being produced by.,the oscillation of two metal blades in opposite directions. The devise is operated-by electricity in .tb* same manner as the warning bells 'are m J}£: vfaes, are installed along the railway line to a. certain point. where' a, contact is made bv the approaching tram, thus .setting " the blades in; motion* ,-;.., . .'.■■••-•.
