Purdy (Auckland) defeated Bert Brown (Paimerston ,Wh), holder of the New' Zealand professional feather-weight title on points in fifteen rounds. The winner' who ■was boxing his first-professional contest, gave a scientific display , and outpointed Brown in every round. . The title was not involved, as both men were over tha ' feather-weight limit, Purdy scaling 9st slb and Brown 9st SJlb. The purse was £IOO. •
