There was an increase of £l4 in the abattoir fees collected by the Westport Borough Council for the, month of October, as compared with the corresponding period of "last year. About fifteen members of the Rangimarie Croquet Club are leaving by car for _ Heefton next Thursday to engage in a friendly game with residents of quartzopolis. .-..Representatives'.of the Maisonic fraternity, accompanied by their wives, will pay.' a visit, to Reef ton this ccming week-end. Tho Westpcrt Borough Council will appoint a parking.* place for motorcars at- it 3 next fortnightly meeting. Brougham street will probably be the chosen place." Mrs D. Ross, -who shortly leaves on her return to her home •in Auckland, to-day at the residence of Mrs Jl .Bird, (Esplanade).' There were about fofty guests present. Mr H. E. Holland, M,P., was given a; welcome .home at the Friendly Societies' Buildings this. evening. A r very largo and enthusiastic gathering was present. The leader of the Parliamentary Labour _Part y delivered a brief address, which was punctuated l with applause. . .
