(PBESS ASSOCIATION TEIJEG*am.) WHANGAREI, November. 12,

A report from Maromaku, 35 miles north of Whangarei, states that two Africans living with Maoris were engaged in a fierce combat early this morning, an axe and stick being used as weapons. One of . the belligerents was so severely wounded that he is expected to succumb to the injuries inflicted by the axe. .

A detective and a constable have gone from Whangarei to investigate.
