HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION.
ATHLETIC BRANCH RESUSCITATED.
A meeting of the Boys' High School Old Boys' Association was held last night to consider. the question of resuscitating athletics. .■ Mr H. M. Taylor presided. ' The -chairman' said the. Association .was in existenoe as much to encourage athletics as football, cricket, or other sport. It would be a pity if, because of. the lack of a little enthusiasm, athletics were allowed to fall through.- Ho could not seo why, with the great number of schoolboys leaving school each year, the athletic section of the Association should not bo as strong .as • any other in Canterbury.. ' . It was decided that &n athletic section of the Aesociation .be re-formed. ■ The election of officers resulted- as follows :—Presiilent, MrH. M. Taylor; vicepresidents, Dr. Guy Haskins, Dr. W. S. Seed, Mr .K.. Beattie; hon. secretary, Mr P. W. Large; committee, Messrs E. Taylor, T. Donnelly, D. Wilson, A. Parker, L. Smith, J. K. Dickson,' E. King; delegate to Canterbury .Centre, Mr Large. It was decided that, the question of finance be left to the incoming committee, with a recommendation that a email levy be made for membership. It was. suggested that the club's colours should be the school colours, with the letters "03." worked in white on them.
