CATHOLIC MISSION.
- ST. JOSEPH'S, PAPANUI. • The mission at St. Joseph's, Papanui, which is being conducted by the. Rev. Father McCarthy, superior of the Marist" Mission, ' continues' ,to draw large congregations at the various services. Last night, after a discourse on .the . "Passion of Christ," in which His sufferings were vividly portrayed, a life-sized! -figure of the Crucified was solemnly unveiled and blessed. This evening a special solemnity in honour of the Blessed Sacrament will take* place. The."church grounds will be brilliantly .illuminated for the procession, in which,'ike' whole of' the congregation, including, the V Confraternities,. will .take part. * To-morrow • mcijning the 40 hours' contiuoua adoration will begin with Solemn Mass. The mission will conclude on Sunday night with the imposing ceremony of the Renewal of, Baptismal Vows and the imparting of the Papal Blessing.
