FIRE BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING.
The Christchurch Fire Board met last night. Present; Messrs A. Williams (chairman), P. H. Harris, J. R. Cameron, E. H. Andrews, H. R. Rusbridge, and H. Holland.
The chairman said that a section in Colombo street South had been placed under offer to the Board as a site for a new sub-station.
The tender of C. A. Cooper -was accepted for renovating the main station. The Superintendent reported that 15 calls were received during the month, three fate? alarm*, one rubbish fire, and 11 actual fires. The estimated fire loss vas -£3270, the insurances, being -£14.025, and the value of the. property affWted £22.552. The Tilling-tftevens ladder and IOCOft of hose_ were now in commission. The new 25cwt Dennis chassis had also nrrived. and . tenders were being invited for building the hfxly. A chemical cylinder had been delivered to the Hospital Board for use at Bottle Lake.
