FLOWER SHOW.

HALKETT. A flower show in connexiin with the- Halkett Parish Presbyterian Church was held ia th© Kirweo igricultural Hall on Thumday, and proved a. very successful function. Although it was late in the- season, there troa a splendid display of flowers, and this section was quite equal to some of the e«her shows, especially in the rose classes. Fruit waa fair, but hailstorms in (he earlier part of the season militated against a first-class display in the appltfTsection. Vegetables and farm roots made a very creditable showing. The children's section was attractive, and the photography and needlework sections caused keen eompetitfon. Mesdames W. Symo and Duncan, and Messrs R. Nairn, W. J. Jenkins, and Jocelyn were the judges. The secretary's duties were ably carried out by Mr G. T. Robertson. During the evening a song was given by Mrs M.. J», Johnson, and musical items were contributed-by Mrs A. L. Stewart, and Misses" Atkinson, M. McClelland, and Thompson. A sheep was presented by Mr D.
