NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. A,meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council wa3 held last night. Present—Messrs F. Q. Raphael '(chairman), and J. S. Barrett, \\. H. Winsor, D. Reeso, E. R. Caygill, S. F. Wilson, and J. F. Peake (hon. secretary). Mr T. HiSward, manager of the Australian cricket team which rpeently toured the Dominion, wrote thanking the Council for the manner in which thev had treated the team. The secretary of the Marlborough Cricket Association wrote,, stating that his association had been unalflo ti> arrange mutable dmtes with the Wairaropa. Association for a •Bawke Cup match, so had postponed: their ■visit until next sea«>n. Tho secretary reported that ho had written to the .Association to the effect that' it would be necessary for them to'lodge a fresh challenge for next season, as the committee had decided not to carry over, challenges from one season, to another. His action was approved. /

Marylelxme-.'Cricket Club decided' that tlie county championship will be decided thus: For a win outright, five points; for a, win on. the first innings, three points; for ,i loeb on the first innings, one point; for a "tie, ono and a half points; and for a tic on the first innin?s, one and a. half points. If there is-no result on the first innings, the match will be igndrod. Tho position depends oh the percentage of points obtained to the maximum obtainable.

It was absurd to" say thia was the beat batting side thait hod over left Australia, but tho material was all right. He hoped for the best.
