CONAN DOYLE-ISM.
TO THE EDITOR o» "THB TRESS." Sir, —You newspaper men are the limit at naming things. Conan Doyle would class the goings-on at Guyra n's poltergeism, if caused by discarnate agency, and larrikinism if caused by spirits incarnate. It is curious how our attention has to be called again and again to the fact that there- is a spirit world, since A.D. 33. Miss E. K. Bates describes a seance held at a Bheep station in Queensland, where the drawing-room furniture was considerably smashed. Next day all sorts of explanations and reservations were brought forward. She had another remarkable experience here, at Dunback. We prefer to see a slowly growing conviction, and we do not want to see any landslide of opinion or feeling in the direction of—what did you call itP—Yours, etc., PETER TROLOVE.
