BANGIORA HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.

A meeting of tho Rangiora High f-'c'.ionl Board was held last night, Mr W. A. Ka;:!;s presiding. '■ A balance-sheet in connexion with the recent High' School concert was presented, showing a surplus of £IG lis, which will be ■placed to the credit of the school memorial fund. The principal leported that the roll uuinl>er was 15*. He drew attention to a new clnii.se in the amended regulations regarding the grading aud staffing of schools, pointing out that the regulations had been framed for Oie benefit of town schools and not for tho country' schools. The manual and technical classes were* to be abolished, the schools to pay for such classes out of incidentals. It was resolved to write -to the Department pointing out tho unfair treatment meted out tj country schools under the amended regulation. It was also resolved to write io the country members of Parliament asking for their support is having these regulations altered, and also to ask for the Canterbury Progress League's support in the matter. It was decided to place on record the good work carried out by Mr C. I. Jennings on the Board. He had been a member of the Board for about 30 year*.
