CITY COUNCIL ELECTION
TO THE ELECTORS OF CHfcISTCHURCH.
Ladies and Gentlemen,— Having been nominated as a candidate for election as a City Councillor, I have the honour and pleasure of soliciting your votes and support at tho forthcoming elections, on Wednesday, April 27th. I have had fifty years' practical and successful business experience (twenty-five years of which have been spent in this city), and this should prove a valuable asset iu carrying out the duties' of Councillor. I have retired from business and can give all the time necessary to the-affairs ot the City. I may state, briefly, that I am iii. favour, of doing all that is possible to keep the Electric Light and Fowor Department up to the'required standard.. I believe that the arrange-
mcnts -made for the Municipal Offices, in Manchester street, su'fficjent for tho time being, but do not believe the Town Hall project a feasible one at the present time. However, having iii view the necessity of ■ being ready when the time comes, I.consider the 'Council should, without ...tlelity, secure the sections in terrace .suitable a;-j" a Town' Hall site. I am-not'in favour of a Municipal Bakery, but consider an effort should be made to establish City .'Markets, for the -sale of Fish, etc., such markets <o be controlled on .similar lines as' the Municipal Markets in Great Britain. In reference' to tbe Port Christ-church scheme, I may state I am in favour of it, I stand as an .Independent candidate, first for Economy in working, second for Kflieicney in administration, third for the continued Progress of the City. Youi: votes are respectfully solicited. Yours; faitlifully, WILI.TAM COXCP.EVE. Cashmere Hills. . 5331
