MAGISTERIAL WEDNESDAY. (Before Mr V. G. Day, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. John Fry was fined 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. He was also charged with being an idle and disorderly pei&on in that he had begged alms in, Manchester street. Constable Bell, of Ashbiuton., stated that while in plain cl-othes the defendant had accosted him in Manchester street and asked him for 2s 6d. Fry was convicted and ordered to come lip for eentence when called upon. INDECENCY. An elderly man 'named Charles-Smith'was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for liaving. committed an' indecent. act near the Christchurch Hospital. , . . ARMS ACT. ' George Albert Belcher, a , youth, was charged with having bean in possessionof an automatio revolver contrary to the Arms Act, 1920. He wa3 convicted and admitted to probation for twelve" monihs. AUCKLAND, April' 13. • In 'the Supreme Court'to-day, Frank Reginald ' Turner admitted that he opened a postal packet, without authority... It iyilitained a cheque for £5 3s, whiuii he cashed. He was p.dmitted to pirobaiion for two years, restitution orders being made. Frederick John Taylor, a youthful forger, formerly of the Weraroa Training Farm, was ordered to undergo four years' reformative treatment. ■ ■
