WAR IN ASIA MINOR.
GREEK ARMY RETREATING. ■ * (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) • , ("The Times.") LONDON, April 5. The Constantinople correspondent of "The Times" says the Greeks underestimated the strength of the Turks, and attacked Eski Shehr in insufficient force. Their losses were of the heaviest. The situation is critical. The Greek Army is retreating alone; the whole line, but attempting to hold the most important positions ponding the arrival of reinforcements, which are hurrying to the front. (Australian and N.Z. Cabla Association.) (Received April Gth, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, April <3. The "Daily Express" correspondent at Constantinople reports that the Greeks' left wing was outflanked and forced to retreat. The whole front is now falling back east of Broussa. The retreat causes a grave situation, as it uncovers the Ismid peninsula opposite Constantinople.
THE GREEK VERSION. ATHENS, April 5. Tho first phase of the operations in Asia Minor has concluded. It has resulted in the attainment of all the Greek objectives, including the railway and the isolation of Angora (the Kemalist capital). -
