MADDISON TROPHY.

The concluding games of this season's contest for the Maddison Trophy (champion of champions singles) were played on Thursday afternoon on'the Christchurch Club's groan. The following were the results: Semi-finals—Monk (Kaiapoi) 18 v. Spillcr (Sydenham) 13; Johnston (Christchurch) 22 v. Sinclair (Lyttelton) 7, Final—Johnston 23 v. Monk 18. Mr G. W: CI Smithson, president of the Christchurch Bowling Club, in the absence through illness of Mr J. 0. Msddison, presented the trophyrto the winner, congratulating him and the runner-up on their display.
