MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING.
• RAKAIA CLTTB. * • A meeting of the committee of the Rakaia Miniature Riflo Chtb. was held at tho club range' on Wednesday evening. Mr C. MoKcgnoy occupied the chair. Eight tenders for tho supply of cartridges were received, and the lowest, that of. Messrs C. A.C. Hardy and Co,, of .Rakaia, was .accepted, and an order for ten thousand rounds placed. ; A tender from another source for a B.S.A. rifle was also accepted. : The secretary was author iked to procure another petrol lantern for use with the enlarged range, which now accommodated four marksmen. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the following for promised donations:—Bristol Piano Co., S. Donkiri, J. Eye, farmers' Co-op. Association, G. Pluck, W. Gibson, Beath'and 00., Hon. Sir Ik. Hcaton" Rhodes, and Alt. Bray., It was decided that for. the first two nights of the Season sweepstakes should bo fired, end in addition a trophy,, valuo 10s 6d, would be awarded to the one scoring the highest aggregate in the two shoots. After that a full programme, of 'trophy competitions will be .submitted.' It wa3 decided to meet at the club range to-day (Saturday) to put the finishing .touches to' tho range alteratiohs ready for the opening on Tuesday next.
