Mr P. A. Young, postmaster at Geraldine, has been appointed postmaster at Waimate. Mr J. A. Louisson, of the Nelson Telegraph Office, has been promoted to postmaster at Seddon.. Mr G. H. Bullard, who has been appointed Commissioner of Crown Lands for Canterbury in place of Mr H. D. M. Hnszard, who is retiring, will arrive in Christchurch this morning. Mr Bullard has been Commissioner of Crown Lands for Taranaki for some time. Mr B. M. Molineaux, who for the past 10 years occupied the position of inspector of the Bank oT South Wales in New Zealand, is retiring, after 53 years' service. He has been granted* leave of absence by the head office prior to his retirement on pension on June 30th. Mr J. J. Fulton arrived from the north vesterday to arrange for the screening at the Grand Theatre, commencing on Saturday, of the pictures of the Davis Cup contest.at Auckland. Mr Fulton is the representative of an Auckland syndicate which is producing motion pictures of New Zealand subjects, and the P?Vis Cup film is the first of the series. His Lordship Bishoo Sndlier (Nelson) arrived in Christchurch yesterday mcrning by the Wahine. Ho is staying at the United Service Hotel. Bishop Sadlier is to bo the celebrant (together with the Rev. W. H. Orbell) at the marriage at Papanui to-dav of Miss Beadcl toMr P. Davison, St. Leonards, Amun. "His Lordship returns to Nelson to meet the Governor-General, who is to engajre (with Dr. Sadlier) in a Cawthron Institute function. The Rev. Mr Be-kett and Mrs Beckett, of Sydenham Methodist Church, were farewelled by members of the' congregation last night in the Sunday school, prior to their departure for Waimate. Mr W. Dobbs, who presided, presented Mr iieckett with, a purse of sovereigns, and Mtb Beckett was presented with an eiderdown quilt, and presentations were also made to tho Misses Beckett and Master Theo. Bckett presentations were also maoe in the afternoon from members of the congregation of the High street Methodist Church. ■
