GRAND LODGE MEETING.- , The twenty-fourth. Bi-Annual Session of tho International Order oi Uood Templars' • Urancl Lodge oi New ;Gealand waa opened, in ' the Alancheoter Chambers yesterday morning, the Grand Chief Templar, iiro. T. JtL. Laiton, of jJuneUin, presiding over a good attendance oi menioera and representatives from ail parts of i\ew Zealand. 'i'ne morning session waß devoted mainly to matters 01 routine. Various cornmiir tees were appointed, and votes of symputhy passed to tne following members, wno were, unable to be present on account oi illness Bro. J. Malms, Past International Chief Templar; Bro. Griffiths, Grand Counsellor;' Bro. Hampton, Grand Marshal. • • Congiatiuations were extended to Bro. Sanduands, Deputy International Chief Xemplar, on the attainment of fifty years of membership. The reports of the Grand Secretary,. Grand Treasurer, Grand Superintendent of .Juve* nilo Work, and the Grand Electoral Superintendent were adopted. The report of the Condolence Committee recommended that letters of sympathy be sent to the families of the following members, who had pessed to the Great Beyond: —Bro. £Jffordj P.G.C.S.,'a Charter member of Hope of Ohristchufth, No. 8i Bro. W. A. Alison, Grand Lodge member, Wanganui; B(.o. H. Clark, Past Grand Marshal, Christohuroh; Bro. E. Muchmoie, Past Grand Guardian, Timaru; Sister Mrs Cook,, wife of Bro. WE. Cook, P.G.Co., Auckland; Bro. J, H. Smith, Pioneer Lodge, No. 11, Wellington; Sister M. Shaw, Star of Wellington, No. 12; Sister M. McCartney, Dunedin; Bio. B. A. Rhodes, Pioneer Lodge, No. 11; 'Bro. J. Marion, a most active Templar and organiser in i\ew South Wales, and lately.in New Zealand in the cause of temperance. Grand Lodge tiegree waa conferred on two members of the Hope of Christchuich Lodge. It was agreed that the next Grand" Lodge. Session be held in Wauganui. The International Supreme Degree was conferred upon 13 members. Bro, Sandilands waa asked to convey to the'-G.S.L. the congratulations of the Grand Lodge %i N«w Zealand. Tho session then adjourned till 10 o'clock this morning.
