CHRISTCHURCH ROVER SCOUTS.

The Rover Scouts returned from their' boating-' trip to Pleasant Point on Easter Monday. The camp programme consisted of various Scout competitions, inclijd- , ing firelighting, damper making, pioneering, and tracking. In the forenoon of Monday the Hovers entertained visitors to Pleasant Point with _ a whale Hunting competition, the whale being an old log The harpooner of each boat had to epear this, and tow it to , a given point-, the first boat past the starting : place with th 3 whale being the winner. This display was much appreciated by a large audience on the jetty. The Hovers also had a series of boat race® on their return trip. The first from Pleasant Point to Burwood Church was tfton by Hover Mates, A. Aldridge, and W. Mitchell, and the second, from Burwood to Dallington. bridge, by Hover Mate S. Poore and crew.
