A__„_ A sub-committee was appointed for eight football grounds being set out. on the Polo Ground* on South Haglay Fork, and it was decided to apply to the Polo Club for the use of the pavilion. The chairman said thalt with reference to tho application for the affiliation of the North Canterbury Sub-Union, the North Canterbury Club at Bangiora objected to inclusion with- . in the proposed boundaries. Mr Buchanan stated tbaJt it would be possible to adjust the boundaries so as to exclude the territory of the North Canterbury Club. , ', ~ •«■»!. "That would mean the breaking up of the Sub-Union," said Mr Kesteven. Mr MoPhail said that the club at Bangiora was a powerful club, and entitled to consideration. _ The chairman pointed out that Bangiora objected to sending iteams to distant parte of the Sub-Union's territory owing to the inconvenience and time entailed. It was decided, upon the motion of Mr Dey that the Sub-Union be asked to convene, a conference, to meet the Bangiora Club,, and the Union would send representatives to eee if an arrangement could not be come to on the matter. . .. The competitions will commence ou Saturday, April 9th, and the draws will he published next Monday. SHEFFIELD CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Sheffield Football Club Mr D. McMillan presided. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, a substantial credit balance being carried forward. . , The following officers were elected:— President, Mr D. McMillan; vicepresidents, the Bevs. J. Wright; secretary and treasurer, Mr D. V. Miller; delegates to Malvern Sub-Union, Bev. T. Curnow and Mr J. Jebson; selection committee, Messrs Geo. Butler and H. Geary; general committee, Messr.B L. Hewitt, J. Gunn, G. Atkinson, G. Wright, C. Tamblin, F. t Newsome, and B. McMillan; captain and vicecaptain to be elected by the team. It was decided to open the season on April 2nd. MALVEEN SUB-UNION. The annual meeting of the Melvern Eugby, was held at Darfield on Saturday. Mr D. McMillan presided, and delegates were present from Darfield, Kirwee, Greendale, and Sheffield. ' The chairman read a statement of acOounts, showing a credit balance of £l4 17s Vd on the year's working. The sum of £lB 8s Id had been collected for the accident funfl, and as no claims had been made on it he had deposited the amount in the Post Office Savings Bank. The secretary was instructed to arrange for an outside match for' the Saturday after the end of the first round.
