A JOCKEY'S DEATH

H. Adams, a young jockey whose mother resides in Uisborne, died in the Christchurch Hospital last nignt from ■haemorrhage of the brain, following on an injury received from a fall trom Micky Free in the Kildare Hurdles at Riccarton yesterday. The horse fell at the second last hurdle, but Adams did not appear to suffer any severe injury, and walked back to the saddling paddock. Later on he exercised a horse from Chokebore Lodge, and subsequently complained of feeling ill. A doctor was called in, and Adams was immediately removed to the Christchurch Hospital, where ho died about 8 p.m. An inquest is to be held. R. Clausham, who resides at v Chaney'B, met with a bicycle accident' yesterday, and was taken to the Christchurch Hospital with a broken leg. Through the upsetting of a motor lorry coming from Kaikoura to Christchurch yesterday, A. Elrig, of Wairau, had two ribs fractured, and was taken to the Christchurch Hospital. This is the only injury to passengers reported from the mishap. E. F. Turnerj residing at St. Asaph street, suffered injuries to his head last night through falling off a tramcar, and was taken to the Hospital. (PBESS ASSOCIATION' TEtEGBAM.) WANGANUI, March /S. The young man, Leonard* Adamyon, who was run over by the motor-oar which killed Violet Campbell in Dublin street on Saturday evening, died in the hospital during Sunday night.
