She is bringing general Amencan cargo, and from here will procced to Dunedin and Australian 'ports^ The Gambada, which left New York oil. October lGth for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Melbourne, is due here on November CBtli. The C. aiid U. Company's new liner Port Kembla, arrived at Auckland yesterday, and is expected at Napier on November 18th, axid at Wellington, three days later.. ' The Port Kembla, whicll is on hev maiden voyage, ia a •vessel of 8465 tons, and is in command of Captain Craven. 'fjie vessel has. London cargo for discharijo at Auckland, Napier, and Wellington. She will load at Bluff, Lyttelton, and Wellington. * . Tlie November issue of tho Union. Steam Ship Company's Pocket Guide pontain3 the names of eight cargo steamers recently purchased for' the coiiiTKiny'B various trades. The addition of these eight vessels brings tho gross tonnage of tiro fleet up to 230,151. The names of the steamers, areWaiotapn . (late Stolberg), 588G tons gross: Wai- « kouaite (late Irmgard), 3CBO tons; Kaikorai (lato Cape Natal), 3112 tons; Kaitoke (late Cape Colonv), 3090 tons; Kawatiri (late, Sliahristan),' 3076 tons; Kaimanawo. (late John Heidmann), 2380 tons; Karanui (late Cleopatra), 1215 tons; and the KekeTangu, 309 i tons. The latter vessel is evidently the Cosmos, which tho company decided," when tho purchase was made, to rename Karaka. The Kawatiri has already made two visits to Dunedin, and is at present undergoing overhaul and structural alterations at Port Chalmers, while the Kekerangu is at present discharging coal at Timaru -'from Newcastle. Tho Kaitoke is due at- Auckland shortly with R cargo of coal from Newport Ntews. ■
