— ♦ A meeting of the Board of Governors cl Canterbury Agricultural College was held, at the College on Tuesday. Present —Sir H. A. Kr.ight (chairman). Ike Hon. D. Buddo, Dr. Chilton, Messrs J. Deans, R. "\V. Lochhead. and Thos. Blacklcy. A letter was jeoeived. from the DirectorGoj.cral of Agriculture approving of the scheme of plant eolection as outlined and forwarded to him. Ho also suggested a conference with members of his staff to discuss ■details of a schcme for tlia better control of seeds as suggested by the Board. The committee appointed to deal with shelter bolts suggested planting a belt one chain wide with six rows of trees 9 feet apart, consisting of Pinua pondeioea and insignis. Abies Dougla.sii, LavraonioJie, and oaks. The suggestion was approved.
