WELLINGTON, March 29. The Prime Minister has been successful in arranging a conference between the gold mino-owners and the miners, to discuss the points at issue in the dispute at Waihi. Mr Massey's offer of the services of . a Conciliation Commissioner to act as chairman of the conference has been accepted by both sides. Owing to the illness of the Commissioner at Auckland, Mr P. Hally, now of the Board of Trade, but formerly Conciliation Commissioner at Wellington, is to act, and will leave for the North to-irorrow.

The conference will sit at Waihi as soon as possible. It is understood that each side will be represented by four assessors.
