(Mrs Kennedy, Queensland, s.), Jan. 35th HOSPITAL REPORT. CANTERBURY MILITARY DISTRICT. Not reported as severe cases.—Hulston, J, H., Riccarton,; McNicol, C. V., Kakaia; O'Grady, L. V., Picfeon; Sim, C. R., EalingWilaon, J. T.. N«W Private W. J. Burgess > Staveley, who. left with tho 13 th Reinforcements, is reported as having died of HicknoES at the City Hospital, Edinburgh, on January 22nd. Private Burgess was J reported missing on September 29th, ! 1918. and was believed to have been killod in action, but later reportß showed that he was a prisoner of war in Germany. On January 21st, about eight days after his arrival at Leith, he was reported as boing admitted to hospital on account of diphtheria. He leaves a widow and two young children. "Word has been received by Mrs T. Airey, of Islington, that her brother, Private Leslie W. Bennett, of the 9th Reinforcements, is in the Queen's Hospital, in Kent, suffering: from wounds. Private Bennett was in Epvpt previous to going to France, and the present is' the third occasion on which he has been wounded. He is suffering from severe facial wounds, his chin having been almost blown away, and at tho time of writing, in October, his speech was crone, owing to injuries to his tongue. His brother, Private Frank Bennett, left with the 20th Reinforcements, was wounded at Mepsines, and returned Inst January. Both are grandsons of Mr T. Wilson, of Islington, and nephews of Private Dick Wilson, who died oT wounds in France in October, 1917.
