LIFE-SAVING
SUMNER CLUB. A meeting: of the special committee of the Sumner Life-Saving aod Suri .bathing Club waa held last night, Mr S. K. Bjj6s;H presiding. A resident notified that lie would present a cup (or inlor-club competition, 10 be known as the Sumner Cup, the trophy to be the property of the Sumner Club. Conditions whicii wcr« drawn up by the two Surf Club Association judges (M«r<;srs C. Bryant and S. K. Bas sett) v.-ere also submitted and agreed to. A special vote of thanks was accorded the donor. It was decided to hold a closing day on Eacter Moudny, and to hold the following inter-club competitions: Stunner Cup, Two-Man Event, Men's Snribc«rd, Dual Ladies' Reel Event. The following officials -were appointed: — JCeferte. Mr i". L>. Kesrcvejj; juoyea, -Oei-iio S. K. Ba«sett and C. Bryam; niuraliall, Mr G. P. Allen; time-keepers, Messrs ii. iiBowlex and J. Wyn-Irwin.
