SUMNER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH,
The committee of ths Sumner Presbyteri.-.n Church met on Saturday evening, when the Kev, T. Macdonald presided over a good attendance. It was decided to hold a communion service on Sunday next, and to eonduct special harvest thanksgiving services a week later. The trea3urcr's report showed that there was a balance of -£2G 7s Id oil tho general fund, and a credit of £5 Is on the build in;; fund account. It w.i?' reported that the Sunday School picnic had been a great success. The secretary was instructed to convey the committee's thanks to Miss Pender, oi 3ledc!if»3, for the use ci her grounds on that ciav. , A grant of £5 was made to the Ladies' Association for the sale of work towavde the end of the year. The increase in the elze of the congregation's during the summer months h:>vin!» ;t*sulted in a demand for more new book", it vraa to increase the supply. It was also dccided to secure a baptise;.'! roll and a supply of disjunction certificate--, the secretary, Mr Sherrard, to attend to the jnatteir. The need for further seating accommodation v."3* discussed, and it wa.s dccided to leave the matter over for a fuller report at the next meeting.
