Mr M. F. Woodward, Scots College, Wellington,' late of Christchurch, has received advico that he has. obtained his B.A. degree.

Captain Holwell, Dr. Fox, Mr T. 11. Davey, and Dr. Little wero passengers from Wellington by yesterday's ferry steamor. Miss E. J. Ensor, of Hororata, has received notico that she has obtained her M.A. degree with second-class honours. Miss Ensor recently accepted an appointment on the staff of the Dilworth Ulster Institute in Auckland.

Air A. H. Holmes,. Registrar of the Supremi Court, has received a private cablo niasngo concerning his son, Lieut. C. H. Hmmes, M.C., who was gassed on February 19th last. Lieut. Holmes's night is returning, and his general condition is improving. '

Mr "Dick'' Stewart has taken over the managership, for thq J. C. "Williamson firm, of Her Majesty's Theatre, Sydney. Tho "Daily Telegraph" says that Mr Stewart is the hero of & hundred Dominion tours in the interest of "the firm," and after tramping tho four corners of the earth, relishes tho opportunity of sottling down.

Mr Andrew Dicker, Assistant Fields Instructor in the Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce _at Christchurch, was on Saturday morning the recipient of a silver wristlet watch from his fellow-officers on the occasion of his leaving for camp. The presentation was mnde by Mr A. Macpherson, Fields Supervisor, who, while regretting Mr Dicker's departure, complimented him on tho fact of his embarking on his second campaign. Mr Dicker who suitably replied, has already had of active service. Immediately on the outbreak of the South African war he joined the Imperial Army and took part in tho fighting with tho Ist Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, for which ho received two medals with five clasps. On the declaration of peace he proceeded to India, where ho served many years, being transferred to the 2nd Battalion, 93rd Highlanders, of the "'Thin Red Line" of Balaclava fame.
