DOMAIN BOARD.
YESTERDAY'S MEETING. The Christchurch Domain Board met yesterday, Mr H. J. Eeßwick preaidin; over a full attendance. It- was decided to protest against the Waimairi County Council's proposal to include •the Board in tho Council'a rating area. It was reported that tUc present bank balance was £866 19s JOd, tho outstanding ' rates being £157 10a. Tho report was adopted. The curator's report referred to various works dono on tho Board's reserves during tho past month, and made various suggestions aa to other neceeeary work. Tlio report wtus adopted. Tho report of the Fete Committee stated that after the various deductions the remaining balance from tho feto was £12U 10s, which had been allocated as follows: — Citizens' Defenco Corps £253 2s Id, Lady Liverpool Fund £355 2s id, Bed Cross Society £255 2* id, Women's National Reserve £25!j 2s Id, Salvation Army War Fund £102 10s, Y.M.O.A. War Fund £102., 103. The report wa« adopted. The Gardens' Committee recommended the Board to crect a free convenience for women and children near the tea kiosk, and also one for men in th© lata native Miction, at an estimated cost of £10. It was further recommended that any surplus accruing from the sale of potatoes be credited to a {separate account, to be entitled "Tho Hiccarton road Entrance and Bridge Fund Account."
After some discussion as to the advisability of earmarking any of the funds for a particular purpose, the whole report was adopted.
