—, » BED CROSS CARNIVAL. A Red Cross Aquatic Carnival was held last evening' at the Top id Baths. The inclemency of the weather -undoubtedly accounted for tho very meagro attendance of the public, but a» a largo number of ticlcete have been disposed of the fund -will benefit by a fair amount, as tho whole of the proceeds are to be paid over without deduction. Tho carnival was promoted by the East Christchurch Amateur Swimming Club, and the use of the bath was granted free of charge by the City Council. The programme was got off promptly.
