CABINET CONSIDERATION. (WTCUZ TO "THE pk*SS. ,t ) WELLINGTON, April 11. Cabinet spent some timo this afternoon discussing tho coal strike, bnt no decisions were reached. Another meeting is to bo held to-morrow, when tho Hon. A. M. Myers, who is th© Minister in chargc of the Coal Control Committee, and who is charged with the duty of administering the regulations which were made to meet just 6ueh. a situation as this, will bo present. It is understood that tho Government does not favour precipitate action, and that thero is a possibility that one, or perhaps two Ministers, will visit the West Coast to make a last appeal to the men. THE INTERESTS OF WESTPORT. AN ASSOCIATION FORMED. (press association telegram.) WESTPORT, April 11. At a large and representative meeting held to-night, it was resolved to form a Wcstport Protection Association, and to send a request that tho ActingPrime Minister or tho Minister of Mines visit West-port immediately and confer with the miners who are on strike, as the Association -was strongly of the opinion that tho miners "were ill-advised in their recent action, and the Association believed that a large section of the miners were ready to return to work.
