Colonel Souit-, with the assistance of Sylvasco and i quette at intervals, ran oix furlongs in 3nun 17 4-otli sec. Mascot, and Menelaus were together at tho end of seven furlongs in lmin 33 l-3th see-. Houscwifa easily beat Toatere over seven furlongs in lmin 32 1-oth sec. Tact and Loyal Arch were together, and had Tho Tolf badly beaten at the end of six. furlongs in lmin 18 2-sth sec. The Toff took lmin 20 2-sth see. Bunting and Form Up galloped seven furlongs in lmin 36sec. Exclusive and Sanacre '.vere on terms at the end of four furlongs in 50aec. Bimeter was first out, his task being once round on tho plough at a strong pace. Owing to fog, it was not always possible to 1 distinguish tho posts. Charley Kilrea. a good beating over five furlongs, run in lmin 3 l-sth eec. Thames finished half a length in front of Ribble at the end of a. five furlong spin in lmin 4 2-sth eec. Gamecock, who wufl brought home by Claverhouse over the last five, galloped six. forlongs in lmin 1G 2-sth Bee. Tyne and Lovesick finished together at tho end of five furlongs, run in' lmin 4sec. Derrett gave Margarine a working gallop over three-quartera of ' a mile, ■which she ran in lmin 20 3-s"th sec. Bra-m----bletyo wa« not aaked to extend herself while running three-quarters of a mile in lmin 20cec. Flying Start and Don Pacifico finished together at tho end of eix furlongs, run in lmin 1G 4-sth eec. Tho fog was all against Flying Start showing his best. Croesus (Oleen) electrified proceedings by beating Coifaely (Tinker) out of sight over eix furlongs, run in lmin 14 3-sth sec—a great gallop. Good Hope and Zuland finished together-at the end of "a useful gallop' over eix furlongs in lmin Hi 4-sth eec. Both finished well. Sasanof was in front of Shrill at the end of five'furlongs. No time taken. Adjutant and Marc Anthony finished together at tie end- of ten furlong 3, run in 2min 13 2-sth sec. Neither of them was asked to do his best The times for the various distances were';— Half 53 l-stli sec, five lmin ssec, aix-in lmin 17 l-sth sec, mile and a quarter 2min 13 2-sth sec. Bee (Tinker) was never fully extended while running & mile and a quarter, in 2m in ISsec. Malvolia brought him ■ home. Beginning l smartly, ho ran tho first two in 25 2-oth sec, half 51sec, five lmin 3 4-sth eec, six lmin 16sec, seven lmin 30sec, full distance in 2min 0 4-sth ecc. This was great work. Panmure, Nyatad, and Mediator, who arrived yesterday, did eteady pacing. Pannraro had the bad. luck to pick up a nail after working. After breakfast Samisen was the first out, and she ran six furlongs in lmin 1G 3-sth eec. Multifual (Deelcy) was far too good for Gaziq-ue (Hanson) at the end of throequarters of a mile, run in lmin 1G 4-sth sec. Disdainful (Musson) did more than pleaoe by running six furlongs very nicely in lmin 15 2-sth see —a smart gallop. Wcrdancer is still improving. Hia gallop over seven furlonge in lmin © 4-sth sec was decidedly good. Glentanner surprised by running three-quar-ters of a mile in lmin 18ecc on the course proper—a smart gallop. Jeannot and KaminoSe galloped six furlongs together in lmin 17aec. They were both ridden out, and there was nothing between them. Killard and Kilke galloped six furlongs up the back on the course proper in lmin 18 4-sth sec. This was better than useful. Art showed more speed than Winter Cherry over tho first part of a seven furlong gallop run in lmin 30 3-sth e?c, but tho imported mare finished best. Desert Gold, Estland, Beltane, Tete-a-Tete. and Egypt,, who arrived yeetordp.-y, were all given eteady work. They iook in tho best of health.
Friday. It was a. perfect ' morning for training. Most of the horses engaged at tho Meeting woro given etcady work, but a few of tho recent arrivals were 6prini«d. All work tw dono on the plough. Pntunure and Nystad sprinted half a mile in 49 l-sth err, X vis tad liaring the tetter of it. Estlacd had a, length the better of Beltan© at the end of four furlongs, in 48 4-slh eec. Both colts pleased very much. Desert Gold was doing iier best at tho end of a ialf-milo run in 48 2-sth poo. Egypt xoiicw-ed over the estne distance in 49 l-6th 6rc. It!is3 Do Vn], Red Ribbon, Cast Iron, Achilleus, and Varnish arrived on Thursday. All appear J ,o be in tho best of health. Csct Iron jumped two hurdles in an accomplished manner. ADDIXGTON TRAIXJNG XOTES. Contrary to expectations, r.o work of importance took place at Addington on Thursday morning, and the track presented a very deserted appearance, with a meeting eo cJcid at hand. Tho spectators, who were there in good force, were naturally very disappointed at not seeing any work-outs. Paul Huon trott&cl over several rounds, and thcjj slo-pped a nico milo in 2min 23sec. doing it well. Sebiska (R. Allan) paced a milo nnd a halt in 4:nin. He will in all probability be taken .to Auckland for tho Autumn Meeting. Arcrdian and the Marvin Wilkes filly in T. G. Fox's etablc, trotted two miiea in company. Arcadian moved well. The Auckland Racing Club's Autumn Meeting, which opens to-day, will have a good deal of interest for South Jsland sportsmen, becausc of the presence there of Mr fx. L. Stead's team. Another North Island fixture which will bfi commenced to-day is the, Wairarapa Racing Club's Autumn Meeting. In the South Island the Tuapcka County Jockey Club's Annual Meeting is set down for decision,, and the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's Easter Meeting opens at Addington.
